The
first problem was that I had done large paintings, but never a mural, so I went to see Hans
Gabali, a well known muralist. He told me exactly how to plan and execute a
mural and what kind of paints
and brushes to use. He also mentioned that it's important to be physically strong.
He was exceptionally nice and it was great to see photos of all the work this 84
year old man has done and is still doing.
Another problem was that the photo "Engine #39's Last Run Out Of Manorville Station" lacks detail. (understated) But we found out that the actual engine still exists, at the Long Island Railroad Museum, in Riverhead. We took lots of photos and even got a bumper sticker with a dawing of engine #39 on it. Of course, it was also headed the wrong way, hence, a mirror image.
