Photo of Engine #39's Last Run Out Of Manorville Station

In 2004, I met Kevin and Bennetta at the Manorville Florist.  After viewing my paintings at www.evahaughie.net they said they knew someone who wanted to commission a work.

Then, at the First Annual Manorville Chamber of Commerce Celebration (Summer, '04) Kevin introduced me to the Elliotts, the people who owned the Maples.   Turns out that Bob and I  knew each other from high school and Bob's father and my grandfather had been close friends.  That's how it is in a small town.

The photo above is from Bob's collection.  He wanted a mural on the wall of a 48 foot by 8 1/2 foot storage trailer in The Maples' backyard.  Bob's idea was to depict Engine #39.  I said, "I can do it."  He said, "If you can do it, do it."

Bob said that it would be nice to point the train in the other direction, that is, the direction it was going when it was last seen, on its last run from Manorville, in 1955.
